Calvin Brooks - Jazz Guitarist (that means I can play any music that’s good) Vocalist & Entertainer.
A premiere jazz guitarist from Detroit, the motor city, and is now living and performing in Las Vegas.
Paying his dues since the 70's, Brooks is a very skillful, smooth versatile talent.
Born February 27th, 1955 in Detroit Michigan,
CALVIN BROOKS. is a versatile polished guitarist, vocalist, and entertainer.
Brooks displays a distinctive sound and style of performing music which always warms the hearts and souls of his audience. Playing since the age of four, he introduced himself to music by creating an instrument with an old cigar box and rubber bands. Now, as they say, the rest is history.
His parents, William and Rose Brooks, recognized his love for music at an early age, They purchased his first guitar from a pawn shop when he was seven years young.
Calvin was exposed to many styles of music while growing up in Detroit. Jazz, Motown, Gospel, Blues, Funk, R&B and more.
As a Detroit premier Master guitarist, he was influenced by the late Grant Green, Wes Montgomery and of course George Benson. His favorite vocalist was Nat King Cole.
Calvin has had many recordings including a huge hit: "My Favorite Thing" featuring Hari Paris in 1991. In addition to:

Calvin also performed with his all-time favorite female vocalist, legendary Aretha Franklin, before President Bill Clinton at New York's Carnegie Hall.
Brooks has split his time between Las Vegas and Detroit since 1999.
